Assembly Machine for 3 Probe parts incl. Lubricating

Assembly Machine for 3 Probe parts Photo

The machine assembles 3 parts barrel, spring and plunger to make a spring probe. The parts are oriented and fed from bowl feeders to an index table, where the parts are assembled, lubricated, crimped, tested and sorted. From time to time the operator replenishes the bowl feeders and supervises the quality of the products.

The machine assembles 4 parts. The probe has a plunger on each side. The parts are oriented and fed from bowl and linear feeders to an index table, where the parts are assembled, crimped, tested and sorted. The operator replenishes the bowl feeders and checks the quality of the products. The machine is controlled by Allan Bradley-PLC.

The machine grinds the tips of plunger blanks. The tip is grinded to a pyramid. Typically, it has four sides.

All operations are fully automated. TThe operator supplies only the blanks to the bowl feeder and checks the quality of the product from time to time.

The automated machine assembles posts and spring probe receptacles. One bowl feeders feeds receptacles into nests of a vertical index table, the other one feeds the posts into the receptacles. Dies crimp the receptacle. The crimp depths can be programmed. The pull-out force depends on the crimp depths. The machine can process different receptacle and post sizes. The post extension (outside the receptacle) can be adjusted by setting micrometer stops on the index table. Interchangeable feeding sets are delivered for different receptacle and post sizes.

The randomly packed parts are poured into bowl feeders. The bowl exit carries a orienting device and an escape. From the escape the parts are fed into one of the 10 nests of the index table. The parts are assembled in the following sequence: Barrel, selector, spring and plunger. The probe turned around by 180° falls into the dimple crimper. The dimple crimper releases the probe. The probe falls into the nest of the next 6-position index table. The probe is tested, measured and sorted into bins (rejected parts, SPC parts, and two bins for accepted parts.)
